Welcome to my personal website!

My name is Àdel Alsalti Baldellou, normally written without a hyphen, although Scopus didn't like me having two surnames... So far, my research has lied in the intersection between Numerical Linear Algebra, High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). More concretely, I worked on developing and implementing Poisson solvers for incompressible CFD simulations, with a strong emphasis on leveraging modern HPC systems.

I pursued my PhD at the Heat and Mass Transfer Technological Center under the supervision of Prof. F. Xavier Trias and Prof. Assensi Oliva. Currently, I am doing a post-doc at the University of Padova under the supervision of Prof. Carlo Janna. Our main goal is to develop Algebraic Multigrid (AMG) preconditioners for CFD simulations on GPU-accelerated supercomputers.

As for my academic background, I did a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and another in Physics at the University of Barcelona. After an incursion in the private sector, I went back to the university to do a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, which ultimately led me to my PhD.

Science is fascinating, but I also love cinema, travelling, and tasting local (if homemade, better) gastronomies. My favourite craft beer had always been RIS, but I must confess I'm slowly turning into sours.
